Terms of Service — Quotebook

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Quotebook (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Quotebook is a platform that lets users create shared rooms to collect, organize, and interact with quotes. Hosts create rooms using Google sign-in, and guests can join rooms via a shared link without creating an account. The Service also offers a paid quiz game feature where players guess the authors of submitted quotes.

3. Accounts and Access

Room hosts must sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Guests access rooms using a link and a self-chosen display name — no account is required. A browser-level session identifier is used to associate guest activity within a session.

4. User Content

By submitting content through the Service (including quotes, comments, reactions, and display names), you:

Confirm that the content does not violate applicable laws or the rights of others.
Grant Quotebook a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, display, and distribute such content for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

Room hosts may delete quotes within their rooms. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Paid Features

Certain features, such as hosting a quiz match, require a one-time payment. All payments are processed through Stripe. Payments are non-refundable once a match has been created. Prices may change at any time.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Submit unlawful, abusive, harassing, or harmful content.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or systems.
Use the Service for spam, phishing, or automated scraping.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Room hosts may delete their own rooms at any time.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quotebook and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or content.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last Updated” date.
